Customer Testimonials
Hear from our customers in their own words, what they have to say about A. Urbano Construction.
To Whom It May Concern:
I have known Tony Urbano for approximately 20 years. Because of his knowledge, expertise and high quality work, we had hired him on several occasions to do work at our home. We trusted his opinion on what the best options were for us and he never failed us.
Several years back, we had severe drainage problems with heavy rains resulting in a lot of property damage. Our first contractor’s work did not hold up, so we hired Tony. Tony had the knowledge and with his expertise was able to redirect the water so that we no longer had to worry about heavy rains.
He also installed a new driveway for us. With our drainage issues in mind, he scaled it perfectly so that any water would run into a drain that piped it off the property.
Tony has installed a beautiful patio, front walkway and retaining wall. We continue to receive many compliments on how nice it looks. He did an exceptional job. He was very considerate and never left a mess always neat and picked up.
I have been extremely satisfied with Tony Urbano’s work and would highly recommend him. I believe his work has improved the value of my home.
Sincerely,
Eileen Johnson

Dear Anthony,
Thank you for the beautiful excavation work you completed on our beach home. Due to the size (30x250) of our lot, every other contractor was either fearful or was compelled to charge an excessive amount of money. A. Urbano Construction not only completed the task flawlessly, but with enough savings, we were able to implement your design of the Techo-Bloc patio on the beachside.
The ideas that you came up with made our home the most beautiful yard on the beach. We are thankful you convinced us to put all the utility lines underground. Although Mother Nature rained on you for days on end, the digging went on, as scheduled, without a hitch. And on a 30 foot wide lot, with all the other contractors working in tandem, no one was compromised in completing their obligations. Another gold star for the A. Urbano Construction Company!!
When we arrived back from our lengthy trip to Florida, you were the only contractor who was enthusiastic enough to be on the jobsite, wanting to surprise us with a glimpse of the patio you had designed.. We have enjoyed the Techo-Bloc patio every summer since the install. It has been several years since the completion, and not one block has moved from its original position. We can’t say the same for our friends who didn’t hire you because you were a few dollars more. How does the saying go? Penny wise, dollar foolish. Thank you Anthony for helping us to choose wisely.
Please feel free to allow any future clients to contact us regarding your work ethic. We have, and will continue, to recommend A. Urbano Construction and Earth Materials. It has been a pleasure doing business with you.
Sincerely

To Whom It May Concern,
We had just moved into a new home and needed a lot of work done — a driveway, storm drain drainage, an entry way and steps, a walkway and retaining walls as the property was pretty uneven and sloped. I had heard good things from our neighbors about Earth Materials and A. Urbano Construction. Even after 10 years our neighbors driveway and walkway had no cracks or areas where there had been frost heave or unsettling of the pavers. Nor had any of the pavers cracked. They'd also been very happy with the service they received.
We decided to give Tony's company the business. And we are glad we did. It is not until you have work done like this that you become aware of how important materials and site preparation are. I am a perfectionist and Tony's crew did everything right. Leaders off of the storm drains were sturdy and designed to hold up underground without being crushed (unlike our friends who had had crushed pipe and had to have it all their underground drainage redone). All the storm drains led the runoff away from the house. We never had any issues with ice on our driveway or puddling anywhere.
Tony also improved on my own basic walkway and entry design by adding architectural interest with stone walls, a curved walkway and a beautiful entry way with blue stone caps and shrub planters lining the steps.
When the crew came in to do the driveway I knew I was getting my money's worth. The trench they dug and the thickness of the base gravel they put down was thicker than I had ever seen on a residential property and the asphalt on top was laid down flawlessly. The curves were smooth and the edges solid. I could see why his driveways would still look new years later.
It was all done in just a few weeks, exactly by when he said it would be done. Everything was cleaned up and ready for the shurbs to be added. He even filled all the bedding areas with screened top soil so the plants just had to be dropped in.
I highly recommend Tony and his crew. You'll get beautiful craftsmanship and the benefit of all his years of experience and design skills, which is his value added.

Dear Tony,
I am so glad I listened to you and revised the layout for my walkway. Had I had the pavers installed the way I had thought to lay them out it would never have come out as good as it did. Your suggestion to widen and curve the walkway so it broke up the boxiness of the house was the right way to go. And your suggestion to choose a paver with beige tones to complement the beige tones in the siding of my house, let me know you really are a master at this.
But what I really appreciated was after I purchased the materials and had them delivered to my home you stopped by to see how the installation was going by my teenage son and his dad. Despite toiling for hours getting the base ready by digging out the walkway area, they had not even made a dent in it. At their rate they'd have been at if for many weekends.
You dropped what you were doing and brought your equipment over and worked with them to finish it up and get it done in that afternoon.
You really go the extra mile and are so good at what you do. The walkway really improved the value of my home and gave it a lot more curb appeal.
Thanks for your design, skills advice and all your help.

To Whom It May Concern,
Tony and his guys really bailed us out, literally.
Who knew when we bought our house that we would wake up one morning and find 6" of water in our finished basement. Our intitial thought that a water heater broke, gave way to the realization that it had to be something else due to the large amount of water and huge rainstorm that we had a had and no obvlous place where the water was coming in.
After a call to Tony, it did not take more than a few minutes for him to figure out it had to be a foundation drain failure. After arriving at our home, and upon inspection of our property, he located the foundation drain exit point in our yard. We never even knew we had one! And his deduction was correct, despite the heavy rains there was water just dribbling out of the pipe. After removing the grate covering the drain pipe, he pointed out that it looked like the pipe was thin corrugated. A material that did not hold up well in the ground with dirt piled up over it or with tree roots burrowing through it.
Rotor Router was able to unclog the drain but because the pipe was corrugated and running 300 feet from the house their cameras could not show us why it had failed. Tony suggested it be less costly and less invasive to the property and trees to run a new foundation drain from the house. We agreed.
Now that the foundation drain was working again the water finally retreated from the basement. Despite it being a weekend Tony's guys got to work immediately removing the glued down carpet and cutting away the wet sheetrock. He came up with an ingenious solution, too, to avoid having to spend hundreds of dollars on installing new sheetrock taping — removing only 6" of the sheetrock from the bottom, using room blowers to dry it out the rest of it and then adding a large wood baseboard which would cover the entire area where the sheetrock had been removed.
The end result was fabulous. His guys found a nice piece of molding that finished off the rooms beautifully, they painted all the rooms and trim and did a great job. His team was neat, courteous and very respectful of our property. We got an entirely new looking basement.
Once the inside work was done they installed the new foundation drain outside. By using the right size equipment they prevented tearing up more than they needed and with minimal disruption of the yard. They used a heavy duty pipe so we would never have to worry about the drain again. In the spring, after the snow was gone, they brought in more fill, leveled any areas that had settled and reseeded. Within a few weeks it looked like we had never had a 300' long drainage piple installed.
By using Tony and his team you never have to worry about your job not being done right, or them dragging the work out over months. His guys do the job right and quickly. Tony supervises all the work so you get the benefit of all his years of experience and helpful advice along the way.
Using Tony and his crew is like that car commerical where they say "it's like having a dealer in the family." Using A. Urbano Construction is like having a friend in the family who will literally, help bail you out when you need help.
We highly recommend him.
